I have the Regency XL2000 programming and repair manual.

PM me with your Email address and ill see if i cant flat bed scan it and get it to you.

Its a rather large fold out like a road map type of manual.

But i think i can get the important stuff to you in a few emails and you could assemble the info .

Regency xl2000 question

Postby fire_marshal_bill_1075 » Fri Feb 27, 2004 6:40 pm

Andy,

I realize that these radios are WAY old but I have two left kicking around and my FD Comms Budget was just cut by OVER HALF. I really appreciate the info, now maybe some of our officers will be able to have something to use. I've been searching then "net" HI and low and calling around for weeks now looking for this info and finially... I find it here. I should have guessed that someone here would have it. BATLABS ROCKS. Thanks again.

Sorta confused myself now.

RRFD72 was asking for the info on the Regency XL2000.

And thanx ANDY as i found your info interesting and was interesting enough i even printed it off for posible future use.

But wasnt the Regency XL2000 a non front programable radio that you clipped various jumpers and diode wires to select freq and PL tone per channel ?

Or was the XL2000 also made in a front programable version as well ?

I was thinking the Regency RH-256 models were front programable.

I just got the Regency manual out and looked at it again just now as i was typing this (One finger-No not the bird finger= :D :D :D )

I have the XL2000 manual here and i emailed it to RRFD72 and it shows jumpers for programming it and no mention of front programable info.

Now im thinking that the Manual while labeled by the factory at the top of it as a XL2000 sevice manual is actualy for the Regency XLH252 as it mentions at the bottom of the same front page.

XL2000 must have been a series number rather than a model number ????

Sorry about the confusion RRFD72

XL-2000

Postby Andy Brinkley » Sat Feb 28, 2004 5:50 am

EKLB -

This is just my opinion, but Wilson / Regency must have had a bunch of metal chassis frames stamped out with XL-2000 marked on them.

I have seen 2 channel crystal controlled radios (with the diode board for PL) with XL-2000 marked on them and also the 10 channel keypad programmable models with XL-2000 marked on them.

The real dogs are the 2 channel programmable ones without the keypad or display. They require a handheld programmer that consist of a keypad and LED display.

My apologies to to Forest Gump - Radios are like a box of chocalates, you never know what your going to get until you open it up.
