HAD9728A Tuneable Antenna Kit

Post by va3wxm »

Recently got one of these NOS for my GP300. The instructions mention using a special Motorola glue to hold the cap on once you've trimmed the helicoil.

Is it standard crazy glue, contact cement or something special?

Thanks Will! I had a feeling it was nothing special but just wanted to be sure.

Now, where to find some non-conductive glue in Toronto... ;)

It's special glue that will only work with the antenna. You have to file special forms, go through a backgruond check, and then get the glue shipped to you for $200 a tube.

After you are done, you are supposed to throw the glue out. Giving the surplus to someone else violates the contract.

Or, you can get the glue for free from a place in Russia.

:D :D Although I understand you have to offer some other type of glue first before getting the special glue. ;)

No... The glue is free for all who might require such a glue.

Also it is very important to remember this, you may not share the glue with anybody else, you may not give it away and you may not resell the glue otherwise you will violate the glue license agreement and then the motorola glue lawyers (much worse than the software lawyers BTW) will come after you.
