Does any one know how to build a CM200/300 programming interface. I have built my own mobile programming cable but wondering how to build FKN8096A. Any help is much appreciated.

I posted this not long ago. I believe the FKN8096A is merely a box [and RJ45 wire?] that rearranges the pin connections on the Maxtrac version RIB-RJ45 programming wire to match the mic pin out on the CM200/300 and PM400 radios.

If you're using a RIB with a DB25 connector and trying to program through the front microphone RJ45 connector, the MOTO cable to use for CM200/300, PM400 is part number GTF374.

Motorola did change the pinout from Maxtrac on the microphone connector. Taken from the "Detailed Service Manual" [Moto part#6802966C20-O] the pin out for above mentioned radios [J802] is:

J802-1=RX.AUDIO
J802-2=SCI [bi-directional serial comm. line]
J802-3=MIC.PTT
J802-4=MIC.AUDIO
J802-5=GND
J802-6=Mic Hook
J802-7=BOOT_RES
J802-8=9.3V

JUst modify your current mobile cable to work just add a jumper wire to the rj 45 plug

Looking at the plug with the tab on top holding the cable so that the part those goes into the mic jack is facing away from you install a jumper wire on pins 1 and 3 and it will read and write the cm300 jsut fine as well as the older mobiles and cdm

Sorry to bring out such an old thread but I have a db25 to RJ45 adapter for the maxtrac series. I'm trying to program a CM300 and want to make sure I have the pin out correct. I plan on just building another adapter specifically for the CM300 but I'm not very clear on the jumper from Pin 1 to 3. My adapter come directly out of the RIB and I use a standard ethernet cable to go to the mic jack. Can someone verify/confirm the correct pin outs from the rib to the adapter?

Aaron, here is the wire list for the GTF374 Motorola cable:
DB25----------------RJ45(10 way)
1-------gnd----------4
12-----sw A+---------1
15-----bus +----------7
25-----boot ctrl-------6
16-----tie point-------3
Jumper 4&13 on DB25 RIB end
Mount 1 Kohm resistor between DB25 pins 12&16
10 way RJ45 numbering, contacts toward you & locking tab on bottom, left to right:
10-1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9
