Is the PM 1500 now available with encrytion or just the digital upgrade? Looking to purchase six 110 watts radios for new year. We will do the digital but would like one encrypted channel also. Can seem to get a straight answer from M.

I don't believe you can do this with a out of the factory PM1500. I believe the physical hardware connector is present on the board, however, it doesn't mean that the radio's software allows you to actually run crypto. You would more than likely have to purchase XTL1500's in order to get encryption. Depending on what band, I believe 110w XTL's are only available in Q and K splits.

probably just a little bit more for a pretty basic model, probably 100-200. Depends on discounts and other factors...

I don't have my above price book with me, but I believe you can get ADP with the PM1500. (the $10 encryption option)

Yes, but they'll need to get an XTL5000, and they will be able to get 3 or 4 PM1500s for every XTL5000...

The PM1500 does not support ADP, however a Conventional XTL2500 110Watt w/ADP Encryption ought to run you around $2200... I think the ADP only works in Digital Mode though.

ADP is only available on Digital modes, yes. If the channels are already licensed for the P25 emission type, then they should be good to go.

thanks guys We are getting the PM 1500 with the P25 upgrade for $1500.00 each installed. We have two interoperability (LOL) XTL 5000s from the State, which are way beyond what we need. The 700/800 SmartZone XTL 5000 was sent with the dealer invoice.... $7,800.00 OUCH
