16-tone (0-9 ABCD) Radius (CM200/300) DTMF Mic?

Post by cracked »

Does anyone know if such a thing exists (Motorola or not)?

I currently have a RMN5029(A) mic with 12 DTMF+3 function buttons (but no ABCD):
http://www.motorola.com/governmentanden ... i/rmn5029a

There appears to be a "AARMN4026B" mic for the CDM series that looks identical (and is probably no use for this but here's a link anyway):
http://www.motorola.com/governmentanden ... aarmn4026b

Now, we have the older HMN1037B (non-backlit) mic:
http://www.motorola.com/Business/US-EN/ ... 037B_US-EN

..and I found this 16-button mod procedure that I think is for the HMN1037 (seeking confirmation on this):
http://www.repeater-builder.com/motorola/moto-dtmf.pdf

The above procedure mentions that it should work for the backlit version of the mic too...which is possibly the TDN8305A/B and/or TDN8310 (seeking input on this too):

So...the options I've found so far are:

1) hack up an older DTMF mic and add an ABCD "enable" button
2) hold a DTMF dialer box in front of my mic (and cross fingers)

Anyone aware of an off-the-shelf 16-tone DTMF mic, or any other mods that might be more appealing?

if you are looking for a DTMF pad for a project then you should check out Pipo Communications link: http://www.pipo.net/

They have been making DTMF pads for well over 30 years (probably closer to 40 by now) and they have both 12 key and 16 key pads. Plus they are a Motorola dealer so they know about the current offerings available from /\/\ and can discuss integration. Good luck on this though since you would have to wire it up to the standard palm mic and it will probably look pretty ugly in spite of its functionality 8)

I wonder what the beef is over at Motorola with ABCD tones?
