Small 800 trunked portable???

Can anyone tell me what models are outthere for a type 2 system. notdigital....just need type 2 but the guy wants a very small package... heneeds both type 1 and type 2 talkgroups...so the visar is out..

What portion of the 800 band is your customer using? If it's general category, the new 800/900 MotoTRBO radios can do Type 2 at least. If it's NPSPAC trunked, the TRBO won't work.

You won't find a 'small' radio that'll do Type I trunking. MTX8000 is about as good as it'll get.
No trees were harmed in the posting of this message...however an extraordinarily large number of electrons were horribly inconvenienced.

The MT1500 does not do Type I trunking...needed as per the original poster.
No trees were harmed in the posting of this message...however an extraordinarily large number of electrons were horribly inconvenienced.

Perhaps an MTX8250 would work. Doesn't its Type IIi capability cover a Type I system?

Really? There ya go. I guess I shouldn't assume. I thought if it was type II, it was backward compatible to type I. Sorry about that.
