I am trying to add a UHF VRS750 to the VHF O3 XTL5000 high power radio and am not having to much luck. I have gone into the software and turned on the VRS-EP option and programmed all of the VRS tabs. When the VRS750 is not connected to the radio I get the correct error message on turn on. With the VRS750 connected to the radio the error message goes away which I interpret as the radio and VRS are communicating correctly. When I go into menu display and select VRS as one of the buttons I do not get an invalid field and the radio programs successfully. When I push the programed VRS button I get the low error beep and the radio does not turn the VRS on. I have not tried the external VIP switched input to turn the VRS but that the next thing to try. Do you have any suggestion or things to try??? Any help with this would be great.....
Thanks,
Bill

If you have access to an O5 head, you might try that to see if your problem goes away. I have mine on an O5 and it works fine. I have a friend with an O3 that I may see this weekend. Maybe we can try it on his and see what happens.

VRS on the O3 head is not supported. It is the same story for the W3 head. I have always been curious if switching it by VIP would work, but you cannot enable the VRS via control head buttons on a HHCH

Dan,
That would be great....I do not have a O5 head to try, both of the XTL5000's that I have are O3's.
Thanks,
Bill

But based upon what Code 3 posted, I am doubtful I would have any different results.
