Astro 25 Radio Authentication

Post by newtomotorola »

Was just reading a powerpoint slide on ASTRO 25 Radio Authentication

apparently its an optional feature in the ASTRO 25 range that allows authenticating radios to ensure they have a valid SUID (account) in the system. Anybody have an idea what option code this is and how much?

Here is the link to the power point

Radio authentication has not been finalized in the P25 SoR, therefore it is not yet available for purchase.

That PPT says feature won't be available until end of 2010.

tl;dr this is pretty much the end of using Motorola radios to monitor trunking without doing a voice channel scan-type setup.
