MTR2000 UHF Programming

Post by Dougdeutsch »

Greetings,

I am new to the MTR2000 having upgraded from smaller desktop Motorola machines. I am starting to work my way through the RSS and have been able to get the radio programmed as to frequency and PL tone. I was wondering what needs to be done as far as receiver/transceiver alignment?? The repeater seems kinda deaf to the ear without taking any measurements.

Any thoughts from those with experience with the MTR2000 would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance!!

first, read over these pages on the MTR:

Tuning is all done in MTR2000 RSS. It's actually very straightforward.

Remember these stations are designed around a "field replacement strategy", when a fail occurs, you replace a module.

I have one in service myself.

Also if it has the preselector installed they are only 4 megs wide, you may need to re tune it.

do not get in the habit of "reading - changing - writing" the codeplug. From the mouth of mother M "make your changes on a codeplug from the stock template in the RSS - and write a known good codeplug"
