Quantar / Astotac vhf p25

Post by celltech25 »

Have a question for the quantar astrotac guys

Have a 3 site vhf p25 conventional

Main TX Site IS Co-located with the comparator

Site 2 and 3 are AstroTac Rcvr's with the V.24 data running thru some Cisco Routers and then thru a Cambium PTP link back to the main Site.

The Customer is wanting to add Site 4 but we can not get our hands on a VHF Astrotac.

Would a Quantar set to satellite rcv work ?

Yes it will. The Quantar is pretty good like this. You will need a V.24 card for the Quantar, unlike the AstroTAC RX a V.24 port is not built in. Alternatively you could buy a UHF or 800 MHz AstroTAC and swap out the receiver module.

Thanks for the info Astro Spectra, I have found very very few pieces of anything VHF rcvr only,

I figured the quantar would work with the v.24 card since it works at the main/prime site
