Suitcase Quantar- It's called "The QuanTRum!"

Post by ASTROMODAT »

From the Motoorla brochure:

Product: QuanTRum Suitcase Repeater

Models:

P2066A PDR 3500 QuanTRum Repeater VHF R1 132-154 MHz
P2067A PDR 3500 QuanTRum Repeater VHF R2 150-174 MHz
P2068A PDR 3500 QuanTRum Repeater UHF R1 403-433 MHz
P2069A PDR 3500 QuanTRum Repeater UHF R2 438-470 MHz
P2070A PDR 3500 QuanTRum Repeater UHF R3 470-494 MHz
P2071A PDR 3500 QuanTRum Repeater UHF R4 494-512 MHz

Description and Features:

The Motorola PDR 3500 is a transportable repeater capable of supporting APCO P25 digital radio
systems. The PDR 3500 is a re-packaged Quantar Base Station housed in a Zero style aluminum
suitcase. The station supports a limited set of Quantar station options. The station utilizes all the
modules used in the Quantar station except the power supply, duplexer and the RF PA. The power
supply is replaced with a compact universal input supply and the PA is replaced with a mid-power
ASTRO Mobile PA. There are no local speaker or microphone connections on the station.

I saw a photo of this in the current price book. It looks very nice. Slightly more pricey than the regular 110 watt UHF Range 2 Quantar---the suitcase version comes in a tad bit under $20k vs/ the regular Quantar at $17k. Makes those eBay Quantars look pretty good. Now, if we could just get Nick/Watchbuddy to build a few of these...
