MIP5000 MDC ID Problem

Post by caprice96 »

I don't know if anyone has worked with the MIP5000 but if you can offer any insight to my question it will be greatly appreciated. So at work we have a 2 channel UHF repeater system and we are using the MIP5000 as a console for certain people to talk to others in the field. All of our radios have MDC1200 enable with a trailing ID. My problem is that the MIP5000 interface will not decode the ID with an alias or even the raw ID. The repeater is passing the data because I can see the ID decoded on my radio. I can also hear the MDC burst through my computer speakers. Any ideas?

Thanks

MDC decoding is timing sensitive. Your console decoder should be programmed with the same parameters as the subscriber equipment is using.

The MIP5000 is a VOIP system, and IP latency may have something to do with it. Note the suggestions in the literature re: "dedicated LAN/WAN connection on a secure, non-congested QoS enabled network."
