i have a minitor iv sv that i had programed and it said it read and wrote the info fine but when we tested it it would not receive

ok so i squeezed the pager (front speaker and belt clip) and the pager started receiving great so is this the fix i need to do http://radioetcetera.googlepages.com/minitoriiifix i would assume but on that page he says that the pager will receive fine just not alert ????? any help would be greatly appreciated
