There's usually a jumper on the motherboard that you can move to reset the password.

Try to make short-circuit on the battery for a short while.

Ended up reloading the BIOS that was incluided in the support CD. Usually it won't overwrite the same revision but it did...and cleared the password.

There is none on the board. You need to download the bios update utility and run that. Let it overwrite the current bios for you model MW800 and you should be good to go. I believe I have download links under the MW800 section in the computers section here at batlabs.

Download this and burn it to a CD: https://docs.symbol.com/downloads/F5207 ... rt_Kit.iso

In that CD is a windows based BIOS update program and should have the current firmware file in there. When I get back in the truck I'll verify which file you should use.

I bought a used WM800. The bios is password protected and the boot order is set to hard drive only.

I installed and ran the support kit to update the bios, and received a message saying the bios version installed was the same or newer than what was on the disk, and exited without making any changes.

Since I have no way to boot from cd/usb/floppy, I can't even use a 3rd party software for password retrieval/deletion.

I hope someone can help?

Keep trying. Mine had an option to continue anyway and overwrote it. Which model?

F5207A. I ran it several times. Same result. Doesn't allow me to do anything other than exit the program.

I used the link you posted. I can't find anything on Motorola's website about these.

However, I did just find another program that ran in windows and reset the CMOS. So, I'm in.

Thank you for your help.
