CM-200 Programming Question

Post by Tron »

Trying to get a VHF CM-200 programmed for MDT operation.

Have it pretty well programmed, but have a problem, however. When keying up the radio from the accy plug, Pin 3, it will not transmit the PL tone. Front hand mic works OK. Have tried setting it from Ext mic to Data, and it makes no difference.

Other programming is as follows:

Rx audio type (Flat Audio)
Ext PTT source ( Ext mic and Flat Tx Audio )
Data PTT Audio Source ( Ext Mic and Flat Tx Audio )

Accy Package (Default )

Pin 8 PL/CSQ/TG Detect
Pin 12 Rx Audio Mute

Any thoughts on this?

Accessory pins 8, 12, and 14 can be programmed for tx PL inhibit. I noticed that you're using 8 and 12. Is anything connected to 14? Is pin 14 programming OK?

Nothing hooked to Pin 14 and it shows unassigned in the software.

This setting is your problem. You need to choose 'Ext Mic' only for the Ext PTT source, or else the Flat Tx Audio setting takes precedence and the PL is stripped. You only want Flat for Data PTT (no PL wanted for that).

Thanks. I doodled around with some of the settings and am able to get PL on Tx with flat for data.

What one wouldn't give for a detailed hard copy "service" manual for this stuff these days!
