Motorola HT1250 audio distorted.

Post by Jc572813 »

I recently got a used HT1250 and had it programmed by the seller. It works great except for one issue, if I turn the volume up past about half way the audio becomes extremely distorted. I know it's not the speaker because it does the same thing with the speaker mic as well, and I have used this on other radios without issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Two common possibilities are either a defective audio PA IC or rated volume misalignment(or both). Unless you have the global tuner software, a service monitor, AC voltmeter, and the necessary test/programming cable and RLN4460_ test box there's not much you can do to narrow the problem down beyond what I've given you above.
Without the requisite test equipment your only options would be to return to seller, have a Motorola service shop look at it, or return to the Motorola depot for service.
