Post by mirage »

Ok looking on how to activate the MPL feature on my APX 7000
Host and DSP Version 06.05.05

flash 9s24pa-011692-4
VHF/UHF Radio

I put it in the Menu and it does not show up
Tried to have it activate by a side button no dice.
Any Ideas

Haven't spent much time working with the APX radios, but the software is very much the same functions as the XTL and XTS radios. In order for the MPL to be active, you not only need the MPL button set up, but you also need to set the "MODE" settings to have MPL for each of the modes you want it to work with MPL. No mode set to MPL, the button will not show up in the menu.

You also need to set up the MPL table. In the APX family, you get something like 39 or 42 different MPL entries that can be put in the table. In the Astro 25 family, you only had the ability to have 16 entries in the MPL table.

Start by updating the firmware. You're about 6 versions behind, and the early versions made certain features act weird or not function.

If your radio has old firmware, programming it with the latest CPS will not add any new features unless you have the latest firmware to match..

CPS = Customer Programming Software, Not CPS Software.

Your CPS and firmware versions should match. That way you know if a feature is supported or not.
