MTX9250 conversion to amateur frequencies

Post by k3td »

Other than programming the radio with Motorola CPS, is there anything I need to do to get it working on 902/927 MHz amateur frequencies? Also, is there a particular version of CPS I will need from Motorola? Sorry for the newbie questions, that last Motorola RSS I purchased from them was for analog Spectras.

Thanks in advance for the information.

There is a bunch of info on this right here in this sub-forum. Easy search. You will have to hex edit a file in the CPS to do the ham band. How/where the location of the hex addresses to edit will depend on the version of CPS used. I don't know if CPS for that radio is still current from Motorola though. Operationaly, I had one of these way back and I seem to remember that mine worked fine with no issues like reduced sensitivity or power output in the 902/927 band.
