Anybody know what this is? I got it, and it seems to put out a very small amount of power. It's some kind of exciter but i dont know what

it's a micor/syntor era low power exciter...

probably drives a 100w amp with 350mw

any idea why it has both a crystal and a eprom both marked with the operating frequency? It appears to have a synth programmed like thy syntor with the eprom, but yet it also has a micor style channel element!

What you have is a Micor PURC frequency synthesizer. It doesn't work like you would expect. I got one of them thinking that it was a 900 exciter. It actually puts out the channel element frequency. It phase locks the conventional Micor element to the 14.4 Mhz oscillator inside and with the prom and other digital circuitry, provides digital modulation for formats like POCSAG. After spending some time studying mine, I decided it was pretty much worthless. If anyone knows different, let me know.
