Has anyone been able to get a H05WCD4CB1BN 4 Systems, 4 Talkgroups, 2 Character Top Display, 3-Watt, 896-902MHz Visar to work in the 900MHZ amateur bands?

?? Will the Visar do conventional?? If so it should work.

so what is the latest rss number .. i have Release R03.03.00-RVN 4098H
and i get a error of sorts .. "Programer not compatible with this radio"

any ideas ??

You need Visar PP software. I think there is a 900 Mhz model that supports conventional but I have never seen one.

yea .. after reading the Visar page on the batlab ... i didi see that a trunking will not support conventional ... hope that was in older visars ...knowing my luck ... probably not ..

not sure what PP is but i guess the search is on ..

now im thinking .. there ought to be a list of motolola HT's that can do conventional .. so us morons that buy the wrong radio ... might not have !!!

Generally anything motorola labeled as "B1" in model # is 99% of the time exclusively a trunked radio and does not offer talkaround or conventional.

You need at least a B4 or higher to do that.

I have the same one's as Walt does .... i would of figured that being a fairly new radio that it would also do conventional ... bummer H05WCD4CB1BN

the numbers needing to be B4 or higher are the ones that are third and forth from the end ... im sure .
