unit was working fine. pulled o5 head off and tried connecting o3 head (originally was an o3 head) and it wouldn't power up. Thought maybe i just needed acc. to have 12+. still didn't work, went to put the o5 head back on and now that doesn't even power up.
What happened??? Its not the head because it works on different bricks. Did something get fried?
please help. tried multiple power supplies. (this is a mid power unit)
thanks.

Re: XTL5000 won't power up after
UPDATE:
I traced the power to the fuse right above where the control head plugs into the brick. Its the fuse. I placed a jumper and unit powered on no issues.
next question is how can i replace this as it is soldered.
any easy way?

Solder the replacement fuse in with your surface mount solder station. I use the Weller solder tweezers to pick the old fuse off. If you are real quick you can use hot air with the correct focus head or just an ESD iron, or two. There are a myriad of ways to do it.
