Mototrbo programming cable

Post by bjgoossens »

Dear All,

I would like to buy a Mototrbo portable.

Does anyone know what the difference is between these two cables?

- PMKN4012 Portable Programming Cable
- PMKN4013 Portable Programming, Test, and Alignment Cable

Does the programming cable need to be installed, I heard it makes some kind of an IP connection?

Kg,

Björn

First of all it all depends on what you wish to do with the radio. The PMKN4012A cable is your basic USB interface cable for programming and/or data transfer. The PMKN4013 cable is for advanced alignments with a service monitor. In my experience with radios so far you would not be required to use the service cable. I have only seen the ports be used for things like AutoTest ... a package for the XTS5000 with the Motorola 2670 service monitor. That being said the only service monitor on the market that I know can do the trbo digital packets is the IFR 3900 series. So my advice... buy the 4012... you can do basic alignments in analog as well as programming/data.

Hope that helps!
