APX7000 display backlight hints

Post by Pj »

After banging my head on the wall a few times, and that menu options in CPS are everywhere... here is what I found reguarding the auto lights and display backlights for the APX7000 front display radios:

Top display backlight on, front display on usage or channel change, then a dim front display after timeout:

Radio Ergonomics Wide -> Display
Auto light: Checked
Independent top lights: Unchecked

Radio Profile -> (click on the profile(s) you want to change)
Permanent Front Display Backlight: Check

If you want just the top display to light up:
Auto light: Unchecked
Independent top lights: Checked

Permanent Front Display Backlight: Uncheck
(use a button to turn on/off front display)

I am sure there are some other neat variations, but those are the top most popular. Having that 2nd display setting in the radio profiles seem to trip people up.
Lowband radio. The original and non-complicated wide area interoperable communications system
