XTL5000 FLashed with G182

Post by pluto1914 »

I have an XTL5000 with a flash code of 580208-001C80-9 and in that is G182 Radio Control Protocol. I am trying to add S/W BAsed ADP to this radio and I'm being told by my vendor that Motorola says that this radio cannot have G182 in it so it must not be an XTL5000???? I figured I would ask here and see what the experts thought.

They're probably whining because it has hardware multikey in it. Do you have a UCM installed as well?

Software ADP requires disabling any hardware crypto that is present - it's an either/or option under the Secure settings. The two flashcode options will coexist, but you can't use both simultaneously. The good news is that, if you can afford it, you can have hardware ADP added to your UCM and manage the keys with your appropriately flashed KVL3K+ or KVL4K and be fully interoperable with software ADP.
