building digital interface for jedi radios

Post by RDYABOUT »

I am working on hooking up a digital interface box to use with various digital communication modes. These are "soundcard modes", meaning they use the microphone and speaker connections on the radio and computer to send and receive digital signals. The box will trigger a vox command to operate PTT whenever the computer starts sending data.

I need information on how the PTT connection works for the Motorola Jedi speaker mic.

The mic cable has an eight pin connector with the following colors: Black, Brown, Violet, Red, Blue, Orange, Green and Yellow.

Given those wires what do I connect and how to make PTT work?

We are planning to use these on XTS3000's.
