XTS5000 and FPP

Post by MTS2000 »

Hello all I have both a VHF and UHF version both flashed for FPP. The VHF has R19 and the UHF has R15 in it. The first zone in each radio is enabled for FPP. But how do I enable FPP in the other zones? When I try to check mark FPP in the Zone menu it does nothing. I do have more than 16 channels programmed in some zones. Could that be the issue or am I just missing some other setting somewhere?

Sorry for the question new to the 5000 and FPP.

Thanks
Dave

FPP is kind of a pain to set up, and requires some things to be just right.

First, if you look at your first zone (the FPP zone), you'll notice that there are exactly 16 channels and that each personality is assigned to exactly one channel. The personalities are also assigned in order (channel 1 = personality 1, channel 16 = personality 16, etc). You need to continue this scheme for zone 2. This means that you will need 16 more personalities (17-32) and exactly 16 channels, with personality 17 assigned to channel 1, personality 18 assigned to channel 2, and so on until you fill all 16 channels. Unfortunately you must have exactly 16 channels in each FPP zone, with each channel having its own unique sequential personality. Also, you may know this already, but any non-FPP zones must be at the end (in other words, you can't have zone 1 FPP, zone 2 non-FPP, and zone 3 FPP). All FPP zones need to occur before non-FPP zones.

If you are still having difficulties, send me a PM and I'll give you my email address. I can work on the codeplug for you.

Ok I did like you said but still can't get the software to allow me to check FPP Enable in the FPP/Protection tab. Should I delete these 3 zones and start over? FYI Zone 1 is FPP while zones 2-4 are not and are the ones I'm trying to enable FPP on.

Thanks again

Once you create a zone, you need to set it as FPP before you do anything else in that zone. IIRC, the first zone should be OK as it is, but you will need to delete the next three zones and recreate them, then check the FPP box in each new zone. You should then be able to add the 16 individual personalities you have already created to Z2, and the next 16 to Z3, next 16 to Z4, etc.

Izzat clear as mud?
curmudgeon.....and I like it.

I got the FPP issue straightened out. Had to delete all the channels in the Zone except one channel then enable FPP per the CPS.

Thanks for all your replies.
