Current Astro series CPS versions?

Post by Hightower »

How about we make a Sticky post with the lastest CPS versions for all the Astro radios. I for one, would like to have this information in an easy to find location. Any thoughts?

What is the latest versions for:
Astro Saber
Astro Spectra
Astro Spectra Plus
XTS 3500
XTS2500/5000
Other Astros I forgot....

This information would come in real handy when purchasing radios at hamfests - seeing as these radios are CPS specific (sort of).

Yes that is true. The XTS3500 had it's own DOS RSS, and I don't beleive it ever had CPS

That's make it even more current:

April 2005- RVN4181P
Astro 25 portable CPS = R05.00.00
Astro 25 portable Tuner = R04.00.00

Opps!

This has been superceded with the release I just got mailed to me:

Astro 25 portable CPS = R06.00.00
and the tuner= R04.01.00

I see a new feature in my tree now: MPL

But I couldn't get it to function in my XTS5000.

Is this a Flash Option I would need to enable this? I'll make a new post for this too.

If you look several posts above you, Rescue161 already gave the latest CPS information.

I'm not sure if it would be a flash option for MPL, but you no doubt need the latest HOST/DSP firmware to enable it.

Best to my knowledge any Astro Portable/Mobile CPS past version 2 is no longer backwards compatible with DOS RSS. Anything prior to that will work with RSS version 9.05

What do you mean? The software that you have won't read the radio? I'm confused yet again...

Please don't post a question in multiple threads, it can be confusing.

If you are talking about getting your radio to display the MDC ID, then you require the "digital ID display" option to be FLASHport upgraded into the radio. This is both expensive, and just about impossible to get through Motorola unless you own dozens/hundreds/etc radios.

If your radio already shows the ID number, but you want it to show a name, forget it. That option is not supported in the XTS3000.

Regarding the MDC ID displayt for the XTS3000...the option you are looking for is H14-Digital ID Display. The list price is 75.00. You can order it for one radio or as many as you like. The only imformation you'll need are the model number and current Flashport code.

Bear in mind, if you order this you will have to also buy a firmware refresh as a part of the upgrade. The refresh also costs 75.00 (list price).

If you have any questions, message me privately.
