Flash info help needed!

Post by radios4bill »

Hi group: I need some info, using the Akardam decoder on a flashcode from my XTL5000 I am getting "No valid options for this bit on selected platforms" coming up on 3 lines.
What does this mean? Does it have a bad flash? I have never seen this before. Thanks, Bill

You won't notice any operational problems with it.. Where you'll run into the problem is if you ever try to do a legit firmware upgrade with CPS.. The CPS will see those options as not valid, and it will puke an error message at you before it even tries to do the upgrade..

Stupidity creates job security!

If your radio has old firmware, programming it with the latest CPS will not add any new features unless you have the latest firmware to match..

CPS = Customer Programming Software, Not CPS Software.

I seen a vaild 540008-061480 flash in XTL2500s direct from Motorola and I'm told that D5 B2 and D5 B3 are required for operation with a certain thrid party infrastructure provider.
