As the topic says, I want to upgrade my XTS5000 H18QDH9PW7AN radio to be a Ruggedised portable.
How is this done and how much money does it cost? Also, if you can do it, please PM me pricing.
Thanks in advance!

As far as I know, the only thing different on the "R" version, is that little gas plug on the rear of the case. In order for the Ruggedized version to be 100% waterproof (up to the Motorola standards), it HAS to be properly sealed by someone at Motorola, or though someone that knows how to pressure proof a radio.
Unlike the Astro/Saber Ruggedized versions where almost the ENTIRE case was different (thicker plastic on the LCD, more rugged case, etc.) there is no (to me knowledge anyway) added protection on an XTS5000R.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm 99.9% sure the cases are exactly alike (minus that little hex-screw like plug on the rear, and the sticker on the front saying "XTS5000R"). That would be great IF the Rugged XTS case had thicker LCD plastic, or some other feature that would differentiate it between the regular case, but I don't beleive there is much difference at all.

Bah, my computer has been slow as beans lately with this site. Sorry for the double post.

Anyone else able to confirm or deny this?
