XTL Bit Error Rate (BER) without Astro 25 Tuner

Post by GeForce »

Hey guys,

I'm trying to start the BER test on the XTL5000 _without_ Astro 25 Tuner.
I tried to look the data that passes from the radio to the computer, but I'm having no luck in finding where are the set up and start command the BER test in that bunch of data.

I'd like to make a small python script to start the BER test, and simply save the timestamp/BER%.

Any pointers to documentation, or hints would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

If I can at least find the frequency in the data, I could just change it and push the same data the astro software does.
I've seen a couple of examples of frequencies from decimal to hex(i.e. 142.075 to B1 94 18), but I can't find the algorithm to do this for every freq. How to do this ?
