Motorola R2600B HS Tracking Generator

Post by ke4zdg »

Got a really good deal on a R2600B, but it doesn't have the tracking generator option installed. Any idea who sells/installs those? Is it just an eprom upgrade?

Thanks,

Jared

You will need to contact General Dynamics to get a quote for the tracking generator upgrade.

The upgrade kit was listed as REX4158A at $900.00 and required depot installation REX4309A at $600.00.

With probable price increases and shipping both ways figure on the $2000.00 range.

I believe they do a full cal on the instrument at the same time so that helps ease the pain.

A couple of years ago, I ordered a Track Gen upgrade and GD just shipped it to me. I did the install myself.

Just an FYI.

What was involved with the install? EPROMs? Modules?

An install disk that used a serial cable to the side connector of the R2600. The program tells you want to do. Really simple actually.
