I did the d/l and install. The radio reads and writes even faster than version 7 but haven't had time to research the Radio Management stuff yet.

Hello all, brand new member here. I have been unable to update my APX7500 firmware from 4.00.25 to the recent 8 release. I have APX CPS version 8, and once I click "Refresh a Radio" and begin the sequence, it stops and states, "Upgrade folder path does not exist." I can read and write codeplug to the radio, so I have a good connection. Any suggestions?
Thanks

Yes it does....a lot smoother around the edges this time around. I like it.
Also added Zone letters on the top display from Zone A through F.

Put the upgrade file on the desktop and then in the upgrade window, point it to the correct file.
It will take it from there.

Had the same trouble. Did exactly what KS4VT suggested and it was a no go. After mucking around with it, decided to do a repair installation of the CPS and it then worked. Give it a try and see if it helps you.

So if you upgrade are you forced into 12.5kHz for all VHF and UHF?, some of the towns where I work still are 25kHz.

No. This only applies to new models like the APX4000 & 7000XEm3 (submitted for FCC type acceptance on or after January 1, 2011) etc

Unless I missed something here, the trunking scan member limit increased.

My main scan list now covers the three systems in my county, has 59 TGID's assigned, and still let me throw in another 8 conventional channels (dispatch & fireground ops).

Needless to say, I'm impressed!

You've always been able to include up to 10 conventional channels in a Multi-System Talkgroup scan list.

I just experienced this myself. I had APX CPS 8 and 9 installed. When I removed 8 two days ago (didn't need it any more), it removed some folders that 9 needs...Mainly the "Upgrade" folder. I think that's a blank folder that it just used during the upgrade. Nonetheless, I did a "repair installation" and that did the trick.
