Hopefully it fixes the issues with RAM22 processors so I can get this 5k upgraded past R06?
The bandsplit is only a suggestion.

I've got it running on a few 5000's and one 2500 without issue. Not sure what the change from 15.00.08 is, but rest assured it's nothing major.

I just put it in my 7/800 XTL5000. I'll see how it works.

Hey MSS-Dave, where do you find these updates? Are they buried in MOL somewhere?

Here's some details on the R15.00.09 issue relating to SmartX and MSEL console calls

Abstract: XTS/XTL Garbled/distorted Audio on Smart X-equipped system
System Platforms Affected: 9600 Trunking
Special Configurations: Smart X connection to 3600 sites in use
User Symptom: Garbled or distorted audio occurs intermittently on encrypted calls
through a Smart X-equipped site. This occurs on a normal TalkGroup call
immediately following the end of an MSEL.
Description: This firmware issue has been resolved.
Solution for the above is to upgrade the sub to R15.00.09.

Hey Todd....

On the Home page I get after login, latest changes are shown with a date. I look to see what shows up with a date later than I last logged in. It would be nice if MOL would do e-mail alerts for new content or updates. It's getting hard to follow what seems to be 4-5 Firmware updates a week between XTS/XTL and APX.....

This very subject came up today in a System Users Meeting. Any of you dealing with this issue right now? My situation: I have about 750 XTS and XTL2500 radios in my fleet. All but 9 or 10 have 12.00.xx FW now. Those 9-10 have 15.00. or better due to Depot repair or 5 that I got /\/\ to provide free for me to test the newer audio DSP performance. The 4.x system we use is currently in the process of upgrading to 7.9 which will include Smart-X. I have a 8 position CCGE that I have to commission another T-1 to the Prime Site to allow for SmartX connectivity. Radios are forward compatible with the correct option flash to do 3600 and 9600 and work that way now as I have access to a 7.x system. In reading the abstract above, it seems the issue is limited to encrypted calls. We don't do encryption on my radios but the system currently supports DES-OFB for LEO Operations.

Anyone think I HAVE to uplift to the 15.00.09 or newer for my radios to work correctly? I'm going to address this with /\/\ tomorrow but wanted to see if any of you all have any opinions about this.

TIA

Dave

P.S. Sorry if I hijacked the thread. MODS, feel free to move to wherever it needs to go.

So it seems R15.00.09 had some problems. First I see R15.00.09a and then I see R15.00.10.
Radio Release Notes – Subscriber 6.15 (SR7.9)– June 2011
XTL 5000, 2500, 1500/PM1500 (Note this is a Mobile ONLY release)
New Version: Host – R15.00.10, DSP – R15.00.05, CH – R11.00.07, UCM –
R05.07.12
Old Version: Host – R15.00.09, DSP – R15.00.05, CH – R11.00.05, UCM –
R05.07.12
CPS Version: R15.00.00
Issue Updates:
Abstract: FLASHport upgrades sometimes fail in XTL5000 O5 or XTL2500 M5 dash mount
configurations
System Platforms Affected: Any
Special Configurations: FLASHing radio via USB or RS232 through the control head.
User Symptom: FLASHport upgrade will sometimes fail during the period where the
Transceiver is being updated. When this occurs, the Transceiver may not be
recoverable in the field and may require Depot service.
Description: This firmware issue has been resolved. FLASHport data loss in the
Control Head that was causing corruption of the Transceiver firmware has been
eliminated. If radios to be updated with this new version are FLASHed through the
Control Head, the new Control Head version will go in first and will then handle
the FLASHing of the Transceiver, so the benefit of the resolution is experienced
right away.
Anyone got a brick???

Did we not JUST go through this with the previous release???

Ugh. I'm so very glad I have decided to stop upgrading firmware as soon as Mom releases it.
