xpr 7550 speaker mic

Post by lunzac »

wondering if there is a way to make my 7550 speaker mic behave the same way my 6550 and my old ht1250s. whats different on the 7550 is that if i push the PTT button on the radio, it still activates the speaker mic microphone. on the other radios only the PTT button on the speaker mic activates the speaker mic mic and the PTT on the radio always activates the radio mic, even when the speaker mic is plugged in.

thanks

Some older speaker mics had a double-pole switch (either mechanical or electronic) which only made the mic hot when closed. If you weren't pushing the remote button, the mic + line was open.

Apparently someone decided that's not necessary on the new mics.
