XPR5550 Admit Criteria & TPL Squelch issue

Post by HWRTcomm »

Hello all, i'm curious if anyone has had this same issue with the XPR5550 mobile.

The problem seems to be if I have admit criteria as Always on a conventional channel with TPL, it acts as a CSQ channel and receives everything on the channel.
I have tried all possible and/or/std mute settings to no avail and the only fix seems to be setting the admit criteria to Channel Free or Correct PL.
I have several XPR3500's with the same firmware in service with the "Always" setting and it doesn't seem to have the issue.
Thanks.

Model: XPR5550 UHF R2
Firmware 02.50.05
Codeplug 09.04.22
Bootloader R02.50.00

What radios do you own?: Not enough apparently!

By default, under general settings, "Off-Hook Disables PL" is checked. This means so long as your microphone is not in a metal hangup clip, it'll stay in CSQ. Perhaps this is your issue? Simply uncheck that box and it should work as you expect it to.

... which is the way it's supposed to work. You are supposed to monitor the channel before using it. Hence the PL off hook monitor function.
