Copy Contacts

Post by WCHija »

I can not figure out how to copy the contacts from one code plug to another. I can highlight the list and select copy, but when I try to paste it to the other code plug, paste is not an option. I tried to cut the list and I received an error message saying I had to select at least 1 item to cut.

Can I copy scan lists?

Under CONTACTS, you have MDC, Quick-Call II, Digital, etc.....

Open both code plugs in the same session of CPS.
Highlight the ones you want to copy in the source code plug.
Right-click with the mouse and select copy.
Move the mouse to the HEADING of which contact group you are pasting it to (MDC, DIGITAL, whatever)
Right click on the HEADING and click paste.

This works with channels, channel pools, buttons, general settings and more.

You cannot copy the scan list or roam list.

If you are copying talk groups and channels, you want to copy the talk groups first and then the channels. Otherwise, the "Contact Name" field will be blank. If you copy the channel first and the talk group is not yet created, it will leave it blank.

A little beyond what you asked but you can cut and paste MOST fields in MOTOTRBO.

To select them all..... click on the top contact, hold down the SHIFT key while you click on the last contact. Then, keep the mouse pointer over the highlighted contacts, right click and select COPY. Then you can PASTE them all as mentioned above.

To select specific contacts, hold down the CTRL key and, while holding it down, click on each contact you want to copy. It will highlight the ones you click on. When you have highlighted the ones you want, put the mouse pointer over any one of the highlighted ones, right click and select COPY....

you get the rest....
