XPR7550 side connector issue

Postby SD70MAC » Thu Aug 31, 2017 6:18 am

I have had my USED XPR7550 for over a year now and all the accessories will connect and disconnect at random(giving the tone over the radio). The accessory screw is tight and the housing is not damaged around the screw area. The decal ,tape(I can't remember the proper name) has a slight dimple at has bottom is the only damage(like this when I bought it). The programming cable won't stay connected either with the accessory screw tight. It started this in the last 2 weeks . I need to update some Ham DMR sites ,but don't won't to brick this great radio.

Anyone else had this issue ?

I've seen this. People tend to over tighten the connectors, causing those dimples. Try cleaning the contacts on the radio and the cable with a pencil eraser and do not over tighten the connector when programming.
