XTL 5000 Siren not working.

Post by Richard Collier »

AS said I have a VHF XTL5000 with the 05 head remote mount. I do have a NIB Astro siren and cable and the Dek. Yellow round plug goes to the yellow on back of the control head, and the smaller one looks like a mike connector going to the dek. I have enabled everything I can think of in the software,Dek, siren/pa dek buttons ect. For the life of me I can not get it to come alive. Power to the Astro sire box is good and voltage is a solid 13.8. Must be missing something this should had fired off right from the start. HELP please!!

Did you program a button on the DEK for "Siren"? Strange as it may seem the siren functions will not work without first pressing a button programmed for siren which basically turns the siren on and off.

Yes I did, I did the buttons the same as it is listed on the dek unit itself. Not really interested in the siren so to speak but just want the Air horn, Pa and Xradio to work. I do not even get the dek's night lights to light up when the radio is turned on.
