XTS2500 programming issues

Post by VE3TUH »

Hi. I have an XTS2500 here, that I program with V9 cps as it has fpp with trunking in it. I am running into a bit of a programming issue with it right now though. I read the radio with v9 cps, and even without modifying the codeplug when I attempt to write it back to the radio, I get the error "The Feature set does not match Error Context 2a, status: C0001012". I am using a USB programming cable and a win 7 machine. Any ideas as to what the issue is?

Thanks!

Could it be that V9 was written way before Windows 7 ever came out? I'd try running it in an XP virtual machine or on an actual XP PC.

My memory fails me on when USB was first supported in CPS, but R9.xx.xx seems it could (could) be a bit early. I was using a M serial cable all the way up through about R17 or 18 (whenever the notes said serial was no longer supported). Just a thought.

Best wishes with your issue.

I use a serial cable with astro25 20.01 on an CF29 running Win XP no issues at all

Trying it on a Win XP machine and no programming issues. It is weird though, as I can program my xts5k's no problem, same cps v9, only issue is with the 2500 and win 7. It does seem to read the radio ok, but for some reason seems to think the feature set has been changed when attempting to write back.
