XTS 5000 Frequency block?

Post by beaker7 »

Hey y'all this is my first post on this forums. I have a Motorola XTS5000 that was upgraded from a model i to a model iii with fpp, and am using it for Ham/work use. I was programming one of the zones for scan frequencies and found that it would let me program the frequency 154.46375, is there a block that prevents that frequency? Any info would be appreciated as I wasn't able to find any info by "googling it".

154.46375 is not a valid channel boundary. In that portion of the vhf-hi band the channel boundaries are on 7.5Khz boundaries and that area of the vhf-hi band is a transition between two of the portions of vhf-hi band. 154.4525 is the last channel boundary in that portion and 154.490 is the first channel boundary in the next portion. There is a buffer area between the two where there are no channels allowed.

What radios do you own?: Desktrac, XTL/XTS's & XPR's

And as was mentioned by Elroy over on RadioReference, That frequency isn't going to go in the radio at all. Plus it is a data channel...

I probably found this info on this or some web site long ago and saved it but i am almost sure
the firmware in any two way radio will not allow programming of these frequencies.

There are four 154 MHz telemetry channels at:154.45625,154.46375,154.47125 and 154.47875

These frequencies are on 3.75kHz steps, which is half the regular 7.5kHz
