Xtl5000 vd Xtl2500
Looked at buying one of these radios and I do not see much of a difference between the two. The only thing I see is number of programmable channels. Well that and the price

Fairly similar, the real differences are the 5k's ability to be flashed for more options in the feature set.mdnosliw wrote:Looked at buying one of these radios and I do not see much of a difference between the two. The only thing I see is number of programmable channels. Well that and the price
FWIW, the board in a 2.5'is identical as a 5k, it's all in the programming.
Kilgore: Smell that? You smell that?
Lance: What?
Kilgore: Napalm, son. Nothing in the world smells like that.
Kilgore: I love the smell of napalm in the morning. You know, one time we had a hill bombed, for 12 hours. When it was all over, I walked up. We didn't find one of 'em, not one stinkin' dink body. The smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole hill. Smelled like... victory. Someday this war's gonna end...

Re: Xtl5000 vs Xtl2500
Thanks
I saw another post regarding this and thought I had deleted this post. I do have a UHF XTL5000 and was looking at a VHF radio. A lot smaller than
older trunk mount radios but still a challenge to mount two of the radios.
Thanks for the info.
