Using XTL1500 as VRS

Has anyone tried using an XTL1500 as a VRS connected to a different-band radio? I am using a UHF VRS750 right now with my VHF XTL5000 O5. I would like to run secure P25 for my VRS and a Futurecom DVRS is cost-prohibitive.

I've used the XTL1500 in a number of different cross-band applications, both with straight-through wiring, and through controllers such as the Trident Turbo-X2. All the needed signals are present in the accessory connector.Obviously there will be double vocoding doing P25 on both sides, but it sounds fine to my ear.
