radio locked

Post by Motran-jc »

Just picked up a nice little uhf xts 5000 from the online police auction site. powered it up and it says "radio locked"

can I change this via cps? Have not dug out the laptop / cables to try and read the radio yet.

if not, will try to return it to site or ask for them to get the unlock code.

thanks,

Jeff

Lock code will need entered via the keypad, CPS will be able to read the radio and turn that off, unless, it is password protected, then a hex editor or other methods may need to be used.
Kilgore: Smell that? You smell that?
Lance: What?
Kilgore: Napalm, son. Nothing in the world smells like that.
Kilgore: I love the smell of napalm in the morning. You know, one time we had a hill bombed, for 12 hours. When it was all over, I walked up. We didn't find one of 'em, not one stinkin' dink body. The smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole hill. Smelled like... victory. Someday this war's gonna end...

LAPD are very protective with their equipment. They don't sell their radios.

Surplus radio equipment is destroyed and any unit on the out of agency hands is probably stolen.
