XTL2500 09/10 Maintenance Mode Help

Post by KE5KAF »

Hi guys, so I have an

XTL2500 700/800 MHz
Model M21URM9PW1AN
Flashcode 500008-000484-6
REMOTE Setup

I was updating the radio one day and the laptop shut off in the middle of writing the codeplug. So now, if I turn on the radio I get strange LCD lines then it powers off. If I go into the flashzap mode, I do get the green screen and flashzap information. I can not read or write the radio.

If I take another control head off our XTL2500 VHF models I can at least get the code 09/10 Fail when booting up the radio, then it goes into Maintenance Mode. Still, I am unable to read or write the radio.

Anyone have any ideas?

Have a secure module in there?

I know you said you can't read or write to the radio, but do you mean a standard read/write with CPS, or do you also mean via flashport recovery mode as well?

It's possible it is saveable, sometimes they can be brought back by loading a cp back into it, or....forcing one into it if need be.
Kilgore: Smell that? You smell that?
Lance: What?
Kilgore: Napalm, son. Nothing in the world smells like that.
Kilgore: I love the smell of napalm in the morning. You know, one time we had a hill bombed, for 12 hours. When it was all over, I walked up. We didn't find one of 'em, not one stinkin' dink body. The smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole hill. Smelled like... victory. Someday this war's gonna end...

I've tried to write / force a codeplug using the Dept but nothing seems to work.

I've managed to get the control head updated and working but talking to the drawer has proven difficult.

I've tried flashing it as well and nothing.
