I've read confusing info about the XTL2500 and what speakers can be safely used long term with it. I've read the 4ohm (or 3.2ohm) speakers are OK to use ALA the audio isn't cranked up for long periods. I've heard that Motorola implicitly states to use 8ohm speakers only with the XTL2500 though I haven't read it directly from Motorola. I've read that the 4ohm speakers are fine no matter what volume the audio's at and no long term damage will occur. Looking at Motorola's accessories page for the XTL2500 shows both 4ohm and 8ohm speakers. Confusing. Is there a correct answer? IDK but I'd like to hear from you guys on it. Thanks.

From the XTL2500 section on a 2010 copy of ECAT:

ADD: INCREASED AUDIO POWER 13W Option W432
Corresponding kit: HSN4032.

HSN4032 is a 3.2 OHM (that measures 2.1 OHM DC) 13 watt speaker.

I don't see why a 3.2 ohm speaker isn't compatible with a XTL2500.

Just an observation. I have used
both HSN4038 7.5 watt 8 ohm water-resistant Speakers

and

HSN4039 13 Watt 3.2 ohm water-resistant Speakers

On page 3-11 for the acc jack
pin functions of HLN6923A the
XTL2500 M5 Control Head Installation
Manual regarding the speaker pins
below.

Pin 20 SPKR+ and Pin 26 SPKR-
are both noted with the below
caution.

3.2 ohm minimum impedance is noted
on each pin. The main critical caution is to
NEVER ground either pin.
