APX7500 and PVP Helmet Headset Low RX Volume

Post by 2wayfreq »

Hi Guys,
To any Techs in Law Enforcement Local Government Shops:

I am encountering an Issue with our officers having low helmet receive audio using the PVP headset. We have the APX7500 (Motorcycle Model) UHF 7/8 Mobile and the operating channels are UHF conventional Narrow Band. The officers have to crank the volume knob on the O5 head all the way clockwise to hear dispatch. We have looked at Mountain Top Repeater Station and Intraplex Mux (-10) audio levels. Dispatch console levels have been checked. The older Orion mobiles do not exhibit this problem. It seems to be narrowed down to either the APX audio output level to headset speaker, or the headset speakers themselves are not as loud.
Just wanted to see if this has been reported or experienced anywhere else and any solution found? Thank you!
