APX7500 07 Dual Radio TX Audio Problem

Post by SoCalRescue »

I have a dual radio (7500s) 07 remote head setup. When I key the microphone (attached to the p7 head), the TX enables but transmits a blank carrier with no TX audio. I ensured the ribbon was secured on the control head/chib and I've tried using the radios individually. The only transmit audio I get is when I plug the mic directly into the decks themselves. Any known software changes that I'm missing? Has anyone experienced this?

What firmwares are in the radios?
How are the radios connected to the control head?
Are they both connected to the control head individually or daisy chained?
Do both radios have the same issue or just the primary? Secondary?
Same problem in trunking and conventional?

I just finished setting up a dual radio and it's a slight learning curve so I'll help where I can.

Radios were bumped to latest firmware. They are Daisy chained to the head through one long remote cable. Both radios have the same problem and I don't use trunking so all this has been in conventional analog.

Check that you don't have your primary and secondary decks reversed. The head and secondary radio should both be plugged into the primary radio (set in CPS, not flash-dependent.)
