APX Emergency find me

Post by Jayce »

The new firmware update R14.51.00 has a new feature called Emergency Find Me. "This feature utilizes the Bluetooth Low Energy beacon profile to determine the relative proximity of a user-initiated emergency within 10 meters. The Beacon menu provides a list of all user-initiated emergency button presses, and the proximity of each user. Beacon initiation is supported on all models and beacon detection is supported on models 2.5 and 3.5"
Anyone heard how this going to work , how to program ..? Sounds like a good idea, but Moto hasn't put out any details that I can find. Maybe it will be available in the next CPS version.

And the new 07/12/2016 sales brochure for the APX6000XE !!!Enhanced!!! P25 radio shows it as a 'B' revision with the wifi stuff, Bluetooth 4.0, and other available things. Wording hints that the 'B' radio is a requirement to make the Emergency Find Me feature a capability (insert TV commercial voice here: "But wait there's more...the new APX6000XE 'B' revision enhanced P25 radio...now with 10% more everything".)

Rats, just when you own the latest and greatest APX6000XE, it changes. And my APX8000XE hasn't even left the factory yet. Sigh.

Going to have to see if the APX6000XEs we just ordered in late June and are sitting in a warehouse are the "B" revision. Sales did not mention this during the ordering process.

Looks like our PM has much work cut out for him.

We just got three this week and I haven't looked yet either. There goes simple cloning out the window. That'll kill us...different model numbers.
