I've noticed a significant drop in battery life after switching to an 8000, even with BT/GPS turned off. I'm planning on buying an Impres 2 charger to see if that fixes things.

All in all, the 8000 is everything I've ever wanted in a radio, aside from the lack of DMR...cough...Motorola. I keep a PMAT4005 antenna on there as LAFD comes in so well, I didn't opt for the all-band antenna.

I don't see that an IMPRES2 charger will change anything. The only significant difference is faster charge time.

There was a previous discussion on the battery life of the APX8000
