APX Series will never support DMR as it only supports a higher protocol P25 which is Public Safety Grade.. DMR was designed more for business and other applications other then Public Safety....
I monitor my PM's, So I should reply fairly quick...
Re: APX and DMR
I wouldn't say never. It has the hardware to support DMR.ces911 wrote:SSE5000ASTRO wrote:Does a apx radio support DMR now?

Schrodinger's Radio: It is simultaneously too loud and too quiet, but you will never know which until someone transmits.

Re: APX and DMR
Disclaimer...I'm kidding.
No, that comes in the new APX9000 and APX9000XE being shown at IWCE in 2018. In addition to DMR, it also supports Iridium, Garmin Rino on-screen position plotting of other units, VHF-Lo band, and cellular formats. The antenna is 18" long (rumored stubby to be available at 16").
Now when someone Googles the 9000-series, it'll have something to find.
